Jewel launches Covid19 Response – Get Digital Project

The Jewel Foundation is delighted to announce that they have received £10,000 funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund.

The funding will specifically be used for a new “Get Digital” project, supporting community residents with none or little digital skills as well as providing a range of online courses to increase people’s life skills.

Jewel prepares businesses for Brexit

The Jewel Foundation held a high level workshop for businesses which import and export to Europe.

Presented via zoom by the Head of International Trade of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce the 1-hour session covered a wide range of topics including registration with the relevant authorities in both the UK and Europe, shipping requirements and the steps companies need to put in place to ensure they comply with the regulations.

Jewel represents the Jewish Community at Downing Street reception

In recognition of the work that Jewel does for Manchester’s Jewish Community, Isaac Ginsbury the CEO of Jewel was invited to a reception at 10 Downing Street, hosted by the Prime Minister Theresa May, this past Wednesday.

David Zucker, one of Jewel’s trustees, commented how thrilled he and his co trustees are for Jewel to be acknowledged by the Prime Minister for the economic support that Jewel provides to the Community.

Jewel has its busiest few months to date

The Jewel Foundation has seen a huge increase in the demand for its services over the last few months. Jewel’s employment, training and business support service has embarked on a range of projects to support the Manchester Kehilla and beyond through these challenging times.

Although their centre is closed to the public all Jewel services have continued remotely.

JCom Employment changes to The Jewel Foundation

The Jewel Foundation was recently established to continue the work of JCom Employment Agency which has been supporting the Manchester Jewish Community with employment support since 2008. The change to JEWEL, which is a registered charity, reflects the increase in support to the existing employment services and the start of comprehensive business start up support and training opportunities.
